This color is the absolute business. Saw this car while walking around and snapped a couple shots of it. I love the way this color plays with the light.

All new Mazdas should come only in this color.

I look forward to owning an ND Miata in this color one day.

It has a neat paint process, too. I imagine insurance companies aren’t a fan.

I vaguely recall other automakers questioning how Mazda doesn’t charge more for this color as an option (they only charge $595 on the CX5, for example).

I’m biased, but I love it too. The CX-3 looks great in it. My co-worker just bought a CX-5 Signature and it looks amazing with the Nappa leather.
Below, the CX-3 that inspired me to buy mine and my CX-3

Technically speaking they are different colors, but barely.

It’s basically just a candy paint process. Metallic -> candy -> clear.

Very interesting... I wonder why.

“ To achieve such a deep, lustrous finish, the cars needed to be painted by hand. While this was possible for Mazda’s concept cars, a new technique was developed in order to achieve the same quality Soul Red Crystal in production models. In a process called, Takuminuri , which translates to English as “artisan coloring,” painting robots were effectively taught to duplicate the techniques of Mazda’s best craftsmen.”

Huh, so it took them a few years to figure out how to do it.
Well either way, I’m happy with the normal s oul red on my ND.

I hate those wheels, though
Test driving a CX-5 Signature soon. Hoping it blows my mind.

I loved my soul red 3 hatch and the new soul red crystal is so much better. I do quite like the machine gray also.

First the power bump and now this?! Mazda wants my car to be outdated.

Haha - the power bump doesn’t really make it any faster, just lets it rev out a little more (which is fun, admittedly). The Recaro option is pretty sweet, though. Hopefully someone specs a Club out nicely for me to pick up in 5+ years!
